Disciplinary Policy
Our Disciplinary Policy
We want every child to feel safe, supported, and able to enjoy learning chess. To make this possible, we have simple guidelines for handling behavior issues in a way that keeps parents informed and involved.
How We Handle Incidents
If a behavior concern comes up during class, we will:
Speak with your child respectfully to address the issue.
Fill out a short incident report so everything is documented.
Contact you directly so you know what happened and can help us find the best solution together.
Serious Misbehavior
In rare cases of gross misbehavior, a child may be:
Removed from class for the day, and
Picked up early by a parent or guardian.
We’ll always follow up to discuss what happened and work with you on the next steps so your child has the best chance to succeed in future classes.
Our goal is never punishment—it’s creating a positive learning environment where every student can focus, grow, and enjoy the game of chess.
